Terms of use
Last updated 5 October 2026
The short version
- Play fair and be decent to other players.
- Pearls are a game currency. They have no cash value and can't be swapped for money.
- If you break the rules, we can mute, rename or ban your account.
- Nothing here takes away your rights as a consumer.
1. These terms
Torva is made by Cal Bass ("we", "us"). These terms apply when you play Torva or use its online services. Your licence to use the app comes from Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement (the "EULA"); these terms add the rules of the game. If they ever conflict, the EULA wins on the licence and these terms win on everything else.
By playing, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don't agree, please don't play.
2. Who can play
Torva isn't made for children under 13. If you're under 18, or under the age of adulthood where you live, make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to play and to buy anything in the game.
3. Your account
- Torva makes an account for you on your iPhone. If you lose the iPhone and haven't linked Sign in with Apple (Settings → Account), we can't get that account back for you, so link it if your progress matters to you.
- Your handle must not be offensive, pretend to be someone else, or include personal details. We may reset a handle that breaks this.
- Your account is for you. Don't sell, share or buy accounts.
- You can delete your account at any time (Settings → Account → Delete account). See deleting your account.
4. Pearls, coins and purchases
- Pearls are Torva's premium currency. You can buy them, and sometimes earn small amounts in the game. You can spend them on heroes and skins. Every hero can also be earned with coins, and Pearls never buy power.
- Pearls, coins and everything else in the game are a licence to use virtual items in Torva. They aren't your property, have no cash value, and can't be exchanged for money, sold, or moved to another account, except where the law says otherwise.
- Purchases are made through the App Store, and Apple's terms and prices apply. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com. If a purchase is refunded, we take back what it gave you. That can leave your Pearl balance below zero, and you can't spend Pearls until it's back above zero.
- The starter pack can be bought once per account.
- You can restore purchases on a new device: Settings → Store → Restore purchases.
- We may change prices in Pearls, the items on offer and how the game plays. If we ever close Torva's online services, we'll give at least 30 days' notice in the game and stop selling Pearls at the start of that notice.
5. Play fair
Don't:
- cheat, use hacks, bots or modified versions of the app, or exploit bugs (please report them instead);
- attack, overload or try to get into our servers or other players' accounts;
- harass, threaten or abuse other players, including through handles or reports;
- sell or trade accounts, items or Pearls for real money;
- break the law while using Torva.
You can block and report any player from their player card. We review reports.
6. If the rules are broken
Depending on what happened, we may reset a handle, mute quick chat, or suspend or permanently ban an account. A banned account can't use online features and may lose access to its items and Pearls. We act fairly and in proportion; if you think we got it wrong, email support@torvagame.app and a person will look again.
7. The game and its online services
- Solo play works offline. Online play, cloud saves, leaderboards and purchases need an internet connection.
- We work to keep Torva running, but online services may sometimes be down for maintenance or problems, and you may need to update the app to keep playing online.
- We keep improving Torva, so features, balance, events and items will change over time.
8. Our content, and your videos
Torva, its art, music, characters and code belong to Cal Bass. Don't copy, sell or reverse-engineer the app except where the law allows it.
You're welcome to stream, record and share videos and screenshots of Torva, including on monetised channels, as long as you don't suggest they're official.
9. Our responsibility to you
- Nothing in these terms limits your legal rights as a consumer, or our responsibility for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
- If you're a consumer in the UK, the law gives you rights about digital content, including that it should be as described and of satisfactory quality.
- Otherwise, Torva is provided "as is". As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses we couldn't reasonably have foreseen, for losses caused by things outside our control, or for business losses, and our total responsibility to you is limited to the amount you paid for Torva and in-game purchases in the 12 months before the claim.
10. Apple
These terms are between you and Cal Bass, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Torva, its content, maintenance or support, or any claims about it. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and can enforce them against you.
11. Changes, law and contact
- We may update these terms. If a change matters, we'll tell you in the game before it takes effect. If you keep playing after that, the new terms apply.
- These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you also keep the protection of your local consumer law and can bring a claim in your local courts.
